TUFH National Center of Excellence Program 2025-2026
A Collaboration to Advance Impact, Accreditation, and Leadership 

Overview: The purpose of the 2025 National Center of Excellence Program is to support global leaders and their institutions in establishing a TUFH Chapter in their respective countries or regions. 

National Center of Excellence Institutional Leaders and Teams will receive support in the following areas: 

  1. Leadership Skills Enhancement: Strengthening leadership skills and competencies for establishing a collaborating center of excellence, which includes: 
    – Strategy development of a national leadership council across institutions and in partnership with the government;
    – Adoption and implementation of social accountability, interprofessional education, and collaborative care principles and standards within their own institution and across multiple institutions within their country;
    – Fundraising support to pay the technical tool license fee and to support the local infrastructure. 
  2. Advocacy and Policy Leadership: Enhancing advocacy and policy leadership strategy competencies for partnership and collaboration with government and other authorities representing the collective interests of a collaborating center of excellence.
  3. Guidance and Training: Adoption and implementation of the technical tools provided to each center of excellence, including, but not limited to:
    • Indicators in Social Accountability Tool;
    • Social Accountability Fellowship;
    • Teaching Fellowship; and
    • Communities of Practice Publication and Course Curricula to increase the workforce competencies of health practitioners serving the following vulnerable populations: Indigenous/Tribal; Migrants, Refugees and Asylum Seekers; Remote and Rural; Women; Ageing; and Complex Care Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health challenges.

  • Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of complementary student courses focused on the Social Determinants of Health.
  • Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of Faculty Courses focused on teaching pedagogy.

  1. Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of Communities of Practice for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Autism, and Mental Health
  2. Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of Communities of Practice for Migrants and Refugees
  3. Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of Communities of Practice for Ageing Populations
  4. Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of Communities of Practice for Indigenous/Tribal Populations. 
  5. Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of Communities of Practice for Remote and Rural Populations. 
  6. Developing the strategy for the adoption and implementation of Communities of Practice for Women’s Health.

    • Establish Leadership Council: Form a council involving government and certification institutions.
    • Grow Institutional Membership: Attract 10+ new institutions to join as TUFH members.
    • Launch a National Social Accountability Leadership and Teaching (optional) Fellowship: Initiate the Country Leadership Fellowship with key deliverables such as the ISAT Institutional Self-Assessment and the development of Policy Strategies.
    • Adopt and Implement Selected Communities of Practice: Adopt and implement selected Communities of Practice to increase the workforce competencies of the health workforce.
  • Attend the Global Centers of Excellence Quarterly Convenings
